AR-Framework

Spatial Augmented Reality and collaborative robotics

Inserts at the workstation support humans and robots in their collaborative work

Augmented Reality (AR) methods extend the working environment of a user with additional information displayed. In the case of monitor-based AR, these visualizations are displayed in a camera image of the working environment on a monitor. The framework combines camera images, calibration information and the desired additional information to be displayed. This information must be integrated at the correct position in the camera image. From the three-dimensional display position of the data, the image position is calculated at which these insertions must appear. In this way, complex information such as the machining path or process data of an industrial robot can be visualized in the real working environment with reference to the workpiece, and thus presented in a comprehensible way at a glance.
