Student assistant for the implementation of I4.0 approaches in the new research factory for small satellites (m/f/d).

For the research factory for small satellites currently under construction at the ZfT, we are currently looking for a

Student assistant (m/f/d)

for the implementation of Industry 4.0 approaches for the construction and testing of small satellites.

We are looking for a student of computer science, business informatics or mechatronics. Previously completed dual technical training in an industrial company is an advantage. In cooperation with the responsible employees of the institute, the job includes the use and expansion of an existing simple ERP and MES system. With the help of this system, a connection between the physical and virtual world is to be established and a serial number production (digital twin) is to be set up. This includes, among other things, the allocation and deduction of individual parts by means of scanning and the creation of the necessary prerequisites for this in a small batch production.

The aim is to create transparency in the production status (factory control centre) during the construction of the satellites with an almost paperless production.

Good basic IT knowledge including an understanding of ERP and MES, practical relevance, a good general technical basic understanding, a structured working style and the ability to work in a team are expected.

The job offers an insight into sophisticated technology within a prestigious project, the small series production of small satellites. The job offers the position holder the opportunity to excel with innovative approaches in the design of I4.0 approaches in a manageable environment. As the role also involves organisational activities, the jobholder can also develop management skills. An early development of these non-technical skills is advantageous for a later responsible assumption of tasks in industrial companies.

The assistant position is scheduled for 30-50 h/month and will be remunerated at the standard salary rate of the University of Würzburg. Long-term employment is desired. The work is to be carried out at the Zentrum für Telematik e.V., Magdalene-Schoch-Str. 5, 97074 Würzburg (at Hubland Campus North, 2 min. walk from the Mensateria).
