Student Assistant for the Commissioning of Sophisticated Equipment in the New Research Factory for Small Satellites (m/f/d).

For our research factory for small satellites we are looking for a

Student Assistant (m/f/d)

to assist in the commissioning of sophisticated equipment.

In the research factory, which is currently under construction at the ZfT, equipment for the construction and testing of small satellites is procured, such as material cleaning equipment, alignment equipment, handling equipment, gluing stations, soldering equipment, 3D printers, screwdrivers, test computers, communication testers, optical and magnetic calibration equipment, thermal vacuum chambers, shakers.

We are looking for a student with practical experience in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, information technology or robotics. A previously completed dual technical training in an industrial company is an advantage. The job includes the complete commissioning of individual facilities in cooperation with the responsible employees of the institute. This includes coordination and coordination of manufacturer’s staff, coordination of outside craftsmen for connections, fabrication of initial parts, measurements, evaluations and documentation, and preparations for safety approvals.

A good general basic technical understanding, a structured work style, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a team and the willingness to switch between complex tasks and important but superficially simple activities at short notice are expected.

The job offers an insight into sophisticated technology within a prestigious project, the small series production of small satellites. Because the role involves both technical and organizational activities, the job holder can develop management skills. An early development of this Non Technical skill is beneficial for a later responsible assignment in industrial companies.

The positions are scheduled for 30-50 h/month and are remunerated at the standard salary rate of the University of Würzburg. Long-term employment is desired. The work is to be performed at the Zentrum für Telematik e.V., Magdalene-Schoch-Str. 5, 97074 Würzburg (at Hubland Campus North, 2 min. walk from the Mensateria).
