Aerospace - AOCS Ingenieur (m/f/d)
AOCS Engineer (m/f/d)
We are looking for… You!
You
- want to engage in cutting-edge research?
- want to craft something unprecedented?
- embrace challenges and variety without hesitation?
Join our young and extraordinary team today, and contribute to our upcoming missions!
Your future tasks with us include, for example:
- Development, analysis and tuning of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) and Attitude and Orbit Control (AOCS) algorithms for nano- and small-satellite missions
- Development of orbit and formation control strategies for distributed and networked satellite systems
- Modelling and simulation of spacecraft dynamics, orbital environments, sensors and actuators
- Implementation of control and estimation algorithms on embedded systems using C, as well as development of analysis, simulation and test tools using Python
- Design, setup and operation of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches for closed-loop verification with real sensors and actuators
- Integration and verification of AOCS/GNC software and hardware at unit, subsystem and system level
- Support of spacecraft integration, commissioning and in-orbit operations, including analysis of on-orbit performance and telemetry
- Contribution to the development of innovative concepts for autonomous and distributed satellite systems
Our requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a comparable field
- Solid knowledge of control engineering, state estimation and related methods, such as Kalman filtering
- Good understanding of orbital mechanics and spacecraft attitude dynamics
- Programming experience in C and/or Python, ideally with an interest in embedded systems and scientific or technical software
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink
- Interest in hands-on development and testing of spacecraft hardware, software and laboratory test setups
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop systems, test and measurement equipment or spacecraft projects is an advantage
- Experience in the development, integration, testing or operation of space systems is an advantage
- Very good English skills in writing and speaking; German language skills are advantageous
What we offer:
- A technically challenging position at the intersection of research and real space missions
- The opportunity to work on innovative satellite systems from algorithm development and simulation through implementation, testing and in-orbit operations
- Hands-on experience with real spacecraft, sensors, actuators and hardware-in-the-loop test systems
- The opportunity to contribute to distributed satellite systems, formation flying and autonomous spacecraft technologies
- A high degree of autonomy and responsibility in a relaxed and collaborative working environment
- An appreciative, dedicated and international team
- Good opportunities for professional and personal development
