The objective includes the further development of patient care through telematics methods - initially exemplarily in the area of chronically obstructive lung diseases (COPD = Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The objective of patient care with state-of-the-art telematics methods is to make the contact to physicians and care personnel from home possible. Despite their illness, the patients should remain in their normal environment and should continuously be under close medical observation of central medical devices.
