Increasing the therapy quality and reducing the costs will be made possible by using state-of-the-art telematics systems for the care of chronically ill dialysis patients, who are subjected to permanent technical medical therapy. Despite their illness, the patients should remain in their normal environment and should at the same time be under close medical observation of the care-giving nephrologists. Together with industrial and clinic partners, Zentrum für Telematik plans the development of patient-friendly solutions, which optimally support the initiatives and the independent living style of the patient to increase the independence of the patient.
